What Is Reflexology?

Reflexology is an ancient healing art. It is considered both a holistic and complimentry practice. It is based on the premise that there are points ( reflexes ) on the feet and / or hands. These points correspond to the body's organs, glands, systems, and parts of the entire body. In a session, each foot is attended to by specific pressures using thumb and finger techniques. This provides relaxation and reduces stress which leads to the stimulation of the body's own healing mechanism.

What Does Reflexology Do?

It reduces stress and brings about relaxation. It also improves circulation and the delivery of oxygen and nutrients the cells. Finally, it promotes balance and normalization of the body naturally.

What Does A Reflexologist Do In A Session?

A Reflexologist aims to provide a "healing environment" for the client. Prior to a session, the client's health history is discussed. After an inspection of the feet, the reflexologist will individually manipulate each foot. By taking into account the needs of the client, varying amounts of pressure are used on different areas of the foot or hand. The entire process requires approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

Reflexology is a "General Health Service".

A general health practitioner offers services related to overall health enhancement. This means, providing a service which maintains and promotes good health.

REFLEXOLOGY IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR MEDICAL CARE
